A 91-year-old woman, who cannot be named under German privacy laws, has been charged with being an accessory to the murder of 260,000 people at Auschwitz.
It’s alleged that she served as a member of the SS at the Nazi concentration camp.
The woman from Schleswig-Holstein I accused of being an SS radio operator from April to July of 1944.
Of the 6,500 SS members who worked at Auschwitz, Germany has only convicted 50 people.
This latest case is a continuation of recent attempts by German prosecutors to bring any surviving Nazi perpetrators to justice.
Several recent prosecutions have collapsed when defendants died before their cases were heard or were ruled too unwell to stand trial.
