•    Jack Keane was featured in a Tom Clancy book, Airborne, which includes a detailed account of the Airborne Corps and an exclusive interview with Jack Keane.

•    Due to his leadership during the Gulf War, General Norman Schwarzkopf was granted an honorary British knighthood by Queen Elizabeth II. He is the ninth American military officer to receive an honorary British knighthood.

•    After being shot in the chest during a training exercise in 1991, David Petraeus convinced the hospital staff to release him early by performing 50 push-ups.

•    David Petraeus has appeared as a video game character in Call of Duty: Black Ops II. In the game, set in 2025, Petraeus is the Secretary of Defense.

•    “The Powell Doctrine” was a term coined by a reporter. In an interview, the reporter told Powell that he was writing a story about the Powell Doctrine. “Hey, great.” Powell replied. “What is it?”

•    During the Vietnam War, Wesley Clark publicly defended America’s involvement in the Vietnam War while future Senator, John Kerry, led the movement of Vietnam veterans against the war. In 2004, the two competed for the democratic presidential nomination. Clark later withdrew from the race and endorsed Kerry as the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee.

•    Stanley McChrystal was born into a military family. His four brothers and sister all either served in the military or married someone in the armed forces.
