Introduction Ben Sawyer
Astronaut Ben Sawyer is the Mission Commander and systems engineer on this first ever flight to Mars and is likely to be the first person to set foot on the dusty red planet. Commander Sawyer describes his position as a privilege as the opportunity to be a part of the first mission to Mars holds a high degree of historical significance. For the first time in the world's multi-billion year history will anything of this significance have ever taken place, and Sawyer suggests it is an absolute pleasure to be a part of it. With all preparations looking forward towards the commencement of the mission, Sawyer suggests this is a timely moment to look back and reflect on the significance of this mission.
