Dancing in the Rain
Jason Edwards: "Most people would definitely use a protective cover over the lens and body when working around water. However over the years I've found myself trialing a variety of waterproof bags and covers and even though they work well I find them constrictive regardless whether the conditions are really wet, icy or humid. More often than not I'll just take off my Gortex shell and throw that over the gear. At times I just stand in the rain! Having said as much the last thing any of us need is a piece of equipment dying at a crucial moment because internal corrosion hits critical mass. Shooting the warriors was hot and sticky working in the torrential tropical rain, and the last thing I needed were more impediments so I just worked as if it wasn’t raining. Being able to rely on your equipment in adverse conditions is crucial, if you cannot then change what you are using!"
