On The Verge Of Extinction: Only 4 Northern White Rhinos Left In Captivity

31-year old northern white rhino has died in the Czech Republic

Nabire, a female northern white rhino, has died of a ruptured cyst at the Czech Republic Zoo.

Her death leaves only four northern white rhinos left in captivity – three females and one male.

Premysl Rabas, the zoo’s director said “It is a terrible loss. Nabire was the kindest rhino ever bred in our zoo.”

“Her death is a symbol of the catastrophic decline of rhinos due to senseless human greed.”

The white rhinos have been almost wiped out in Africa by hunters, poachers and brutal wars.
