Footage of Cyclone Debbie from Space

Said to hit Queensland at midday today

Horrifying footage has emerged of Cyclone Debbie from the International Space Station.

The category four cyclone is the worst to hit Queensland since Yasi 6 years ago.  

Residents are urged to evacuate and to prepare for the intense cyclone about to hit.

Storms are categorised by the strength of their winds, although the wind itself often isn't the most deadly part of the tempest. Storm surges—pulses of water pushed by the advancing cyclone—often result in coastal flooding.

Stay safe Queensland, those who can evacuate, head for higher ground and those who can't, stay inside, turn off power and gas, clear your yard and board up the windows.
