Itinerary - 10 Days

Day 1 Belize City/Burrell Boom

Arrive at any time in Belize city and transfer to the hotel just outside the city in the village of Burrell Boom.

Day 2 Burrell Boom

Enjoy a full day exploring the ruins of Lamanai, a renowned Mayan ceremonial site consisting of hundreds of structures surrounded by lush jungle. Return to the lodge to relax at the patio bar and pool, visit the spa, or walk the grounds enjoying the local wildlife. (1B, 1L)

Days 3, 4, & 5 San Ignacio

Visit the Community Baboon Sanctuary, founded by five-time National Geographic grantee Dr. Robert Horwich. Learn about the black howler monkey before going on a rainforest walk to observe monkeys in the wild. After, visit a Cayo women's cooperative and learn about the centuries-old tradition of throwing pots and tortilla making. Enjoy a local lunch before continuing to our rainforest hotel. Indulge in two days of free time to explore the surrounding area. Options include a full-day excursion to Guatemala to visit Tikal, exploring the Mayan cave of Actun Tunichil Muknal or the ruins of Xunantunich, a visit to a butterfly garden, or tubing and canoeing through the natural limestone caves of the region. Days 6 & 7 Hopkins

Travel to the coastal town of Hopkins with a visit to Marie Sharp’s hot sauce factory en route. Discover the fascinating Garifuna culture and take a drumming lesson. Then opt to discover the jaguar reserve at the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary; visit nearby Tobacco Caye and do some snorkeling; go zip lining, hiking, or rappelling amid the lush jungles of Mayflower Bocawina National Park; or explore the surrounding coastal landscapes by bicycle. Days 8 & 9 Caye Caulker

Drive up the coast and visit an animal conservation center before catching the ferry to Caye Caulker, a true tropical paradise. Opt to join a full-day sailing-and-snorkeling trip to Hol Chan Marine Reserve and the Belize Barrier Reef, take a manatee tour, enjoy sunset sailing, or just indulge in some valuable relaxation time. On the final evening, enjoy a fun farewell dinner at a popular local restaurant. (2B, 1D)
