In 1983 Pablo Escobar was exposed in an ABC documentary as Colombia's leading exporter of cocaine, a thug and a criminal. This launched a full-scale war between Escobar's militia and government officials, leading to the death of the country's Justice Minister. Journalist Timothy Ross recalls narrowly escaping murderers himself.
