Rescued Lions and Tigers Re-Learn How to Hunt

Rescued big cats at a sanctuary in the Netherlands go through unique training to learn how to hunt prey in the wild. Meat is suspended on a hook above their enclosure and moved via joystick. The training is intended to hone the predators' strength, motor control, and spacial awareness. Most of the 35 big cats at 'Stichting Leeuw' Lion Foundation were born in captivity. They were rescued from private owners and circuses, and include lions, tigers, cougars, and leopards Eventually the centre hopes to release the cats back into wild sanctuaries where they can put their skills to the test.
